A new survey by The Village Bakery reveals that women gain 6 pounds a year from office snacking. Other findings:

- men gain 5 pounds a year from office snacking

- 13% of women eat four snacks a day

- 33% of women lie about the snacks they eat

- top snacks: chocolate (38%), chips (32%) and cakes (13%)

- 33% of people snack to cope with stress

- 22% of people snack for a sugar rush

- 24% of people lie about how much they snack
