A lot of people are making fun of Miss Utah's response when asked,
“A recent report shows that in 40 percent of American families with children, women are the primary earners, yet they continue to earn less than men. What does this say about society?”
Marissa Powell, Miss Utah, responded,
“I think we can re ... relate this back to education and how we are ... continuing to try to strive to ... [smiles] ... figure out how to create jobs, right now. That is the biggest problem in ... I think, especially the men, are, um ... seen as the leaders of this, and so we need to try to figure out how to ... create education better so that we can solve this problem.”
After watching the video, it seems like she just lost her track of thought, but she did have something to say. Haven't we all been there at one time or another?
After seeing some of the really nasty web articles making fun of her, I just wonder why people feel like it's OK to humiliate someone online.
In the words of Taylor Swift, "Why ya gotta be so mean"?
What do you think?
