33-year-old Kevin Ammerman of Indianapolis, Indiana wanted to join the Marines, but they turned him down because he weighed 351 pounds.  And when he tried to enlist in the other branches of the military, they all told him the same thing.  He doesn't say how long it took . . . but he managed to lose 160 pounds and enlist in the Army right before he turned 34 . . . which is the Army's age limit.  He ships out on October 30th.
