The country ladies will STAND UP FOR CANCER

SUGARLAND STANDS UP TO CANCER

Sugarland and Melissa Etheridge will perform
during the finale of tomorrow night's ``Stand Up
to Cancer'' TV special. The hourlong program will
air live simultaneously on ABC, NBC and CBS.
Other stars expected to turn out for the event include,
Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry, Jessica Alba, Sally Field,
Meryl Streep and many more. LeAnn Rimes, Carrie
Underwood, and Miley Cyrus will share the stage with
some other music heavies to perform the charity song
``Just Stand Up.'' All sales of the single will benefit
cancer research.

Keith Urban will be all over the TV screen this coming week!

Clint Black says when he's singing for the troops,
he's more considerate about his performance.
He says he can't help but think ``is there anything
that I can do that will show my gratitude better or
just entertain them more.'' Black is one of dozens
of performers taking part in a two-hour ABC-TV
special that honors the troops. It airs this Sunday.
Black taped his performance on the beach at Camp
Pendleton. He sings the Eagles' ``Desperado'' in the
special. Black says ``whenever I sing 'Desperado'
I'm often thinking about the cowboy that the song
portrays and I think about our troops out there
somewhat as cowboys.'' Other performers taking
part in the special include Toby Keith, Joe Nichols,
ZZ Top, Jessica Simpson and Janet Jackson.
The show, ``USAA Presents America United: In
Support of Our Troops,'' airs this Sunday on ABC.

Faith Hill featured in a new NFL Cookbook

Some of Faith Hill's tastiest recipes appear in a new
cookbook titled the NFL Sunday Night Football
Cookbook. It hit stores yesterday and contains
more than 150 recipes from NFL players, top chefs
and the NBC Sports broadcast team.

reaching out to Bristol Palin, the 17-year-old daughter
of Sarah Palin, John McCain’s vice presidential pick.
A source close to the Beverly Hills baby store Petit
Tresor tells CelebTV.com exclusively that a gift from
Plain Mary was sent to Bristol Palin on behalf of Jamie
Lynn S+ pears. An insider says it was actually Lynne
Spears, Jamie Lynn’s mom, who called about the gift,
and requested the gift come from her daughter. “It
was ordered by phone, and they asked what could be
done for under $100. They spent $60 on pink
burpcloths,” said the source.  Jamie Lynn Spears
gave birth to her first daugther, Maddie Briann, in
June, at the age of 17.

Tiger Woods' wife, Elin, is expecting their second child.
He says he is elated. "Elin is feeling great and we are both
thrilled. While my injury has been disappointing and
frustrating, it has allowed me to spend a lot of time
watching Sam grow. I can't begin to tell you how
rewarding it is being a dad and spending time with her
and Elin. The injury has been a blessing and
a disappointment."

Miley Cyrus has just ordered her first car. InTouch Weekly
says she purchased a loaded, white Mercedes-Benz CLK 550
Cabriolet convertible. Miley says, "I definitely want to get
something bad on the road, big enough for all my friends
and to scare all the cars away from me. I'm a good driver
but it's everyone else that I'm worried about!"

LEANN RIMES AND HUBBY SAY THEY'RE READY FOR A BABY

Her last album was called ``Family'' and now
LeAnn Rimes is ready to be in the family way.
She tells People magazine that after nearly seven
years of marriage she and her husband are pondering
parenthood. She says, ``We're ready, definitely.'' Rimes
says new dad Keith Urban has been giving them some
friendly nudging. She says, ``He's encouraging us to
start gettin' on it!''

Michael Phelps and Carrie Underwood have been texting
one another. A source says, “Carrie needs someone who
is going to stick by her. She was devastated when her
relationship with Tony Romo broke. The last thing she
needs is a relationship with another high-profile celebrity
who’s going to end up loving and leaving her.” The source
adds Michael doesn't want to do dinner on their first date
as evidenced by this text that he sent to Carrie. “I’m not
so sure you’d want to see me eat! It might not make a great
first impression.”

Trace Adkins Heading to Persian Gulf for USO Tour

Trace Adkins is planning another trip to the Persian
Gulf to visit U.S. troops as part of a tour sponsored
by the USO and Armed Forces Entertainment. His
previous USO tour of the Persian Gulf took place in
2002, and he also headlined the entertainment at the
USO World Gala in Washington, D.C. He was awarded
the USO Merit Award in 2007. "I'm really humbled by
the opportunity to spend more time with our nation's
finest," Adkins said. "This is such an honor for me to
be able to visit with our military and tell them how
much we truly appreciate all the sacrifices they make
for our country and our freedom."

Gary LeVox says the band can't think of
anything more fun and exciting than mixing
two of their favorites things: music and
football. Rascal Flatts has re-written and
recorded a version of their hit ``Bob That Head''
to play during each Raycom Sports telecast of
ACC and SEC football for the 2008 season, which
kicks off Saturday. The band will be featured in
an opening video montage. Rascal Flatts also
personalized a greeting to air for each conference.

Keith Urban has back injury but keeps going

Keith Urban hurt his back, but the injury isn't
keeping him down. Keith has been diagnosed
with a slipped disc in his back. His publicist isn't
elaborating on the cause or severity of the injury.
But the slipped disc apparently won't affect Urban's
performance schedule. His publicist says that
Urban is scheduled to travel to Canada to headline
Saturday's Country Rocks Festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
On Sept 5^th Keith will be in New York for a televised
concert to launch the new NFL season.

Jewel coming out with double-disc concert DVD

Jewel is coming out with a double-disc concert DVD.
``Jewel: The Essential Live Songbook'' features 47
songs. The footage was taken at two Jewel concerts.
The DVD hits stores September 30th. It comes out on
Blu-Ray October 14th. On the second disc, Jewel is
accompanied by a live chamber orchestra, on some
of the songs.

Trisha Yearwood's plane makes an emergency landing

Trisha Yearwood had a recent scare in the skies.
She tells People magazine that last week, about
an hour into her flight home to Oklahoma, passengers
heard a loud pop. She says what sounded ``almost
like a gunshot'' was the cracking of one of the plane's
front windows at 30,000 feet. Yearwood says the plane
never lost cabin pressure so passengers didn't need
to use their oxygen masks. But the pilots did don masks
and she says, ``Hearing them breathe like Darth Vader
made it a little harder to stay calm.'' Eventually, the pilots
made an emergency landing in Baltimore.

Johnny and June bed for sale

A hand-made Chinese wedding bed that once belonged
to Johnny and June Carter Cash is now up for sale at the
Tennessee State Museum in Nashville. The ebony bed
was purchased by the Johnny and June in 1989 from an
antique dealer in Lebanon, Tenn., reports Nashville’s
daily newspaper, The Tennessean. Curator Renee White
says the bed fits together like a Rubik’s Cube and is
very detailed in its carving. The bed will be at the
museum through the end of August.

There were some fake versions floating
around the Internet this week, but Taylor
Swift has officially unveiled the cover of
her new album, Fearless, which is now
available for pre-orders at TheTaylorNation.com.
The 13-track album will be released on Nov. 11
by Big Machine Records. As part of the pre-order
promotion, Swift’s fans will get the opportunity
to have their own images included in the album
packaging within a mosaic photo poster which
will also be featured online at

Kenny Chesney's new CD slated for Oct release

Kenny Chesney will release a deluxe fan edition of his
new album ``Lucky Old Son'' on October 14th. The regular,
music-only version drops October 21st. The deluxe
edition includes four extra tracks. It also gives two fans
and a guest the chance to win a trip to the opening of
Chesney's 2009 Tour. Chesney says his new album
``is a really personal record.'' He says ``It comes from
some pretty deep places.'' He says it looks at his life
and how he's evolved.

Miley Cyrus wants a Wii, a car and a puppy
for her 16th birthday. She says, "I definitely
want to get something bad on the road.
(It must be) big enough for all my friends

Catwoman rumors turn to Cher for the next
Batman movie

Veteran singer Cher has become the latest star
tipped to take on the role of Catwoman in a forthcoming
Batman movie. Angelina Jolie is also rumored to be in
the running for the part, if The Dark Knight director
Christopher Nolan decides to resurrect the legendary
comic book character.And the moviemaker is reportedly
now turning his eye to older actresses, including 62-year
-old Cher, in a bid to portray Catwoman as an aging femme
fatale.A source tells British newspaper the Sunday Mirror,
"Cher is Nolan's first choice to play Catwoman. He wants
to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years. The new
Catwoman will be the absolute opposite of Michelle
Pfeiffer and Halle Berry's creations."

Rascal Flatts fans who buy the group's Greatest

talked about Carrie Underwood in an interview with
the Extra. Michael first denied rumors that he was

was then told that Carrie had a crush on him. "That's
the first I've heard of that," he admitted. "That's
pretty cool."

Charles Barkley to broadcast his colonoscopy



Former NBA star Charles Barkley will have his
colonoscopy televised as part of a "Stand Up to
Cancer" special to show on NBC, ABC and CBS next
month. Barkley will undergo the procedure Friday,
and it will be aired Sept. 5th.

Barack Obama is getting a little bit of support from
one of the big names in country music. Toby Keith
says he's backing the Illinois Senator and fellow
Democrat. Toby says he was impressed that Obama
visited Afghanistan to learn about the region. Toby,
a self-described Democrat says Obama is "the best
Democratic candidate we've had since Bill Clinton."

Pat Green recovering from being knocked out cold



Pat Green is recovering from being knocked out cold. He
was performing las Saturday at the Michigan International
Speedway when he shouted, "Anyone got a beer?" Someone
then threw a can that smashed Pat between the eyes and
knocked him out cold. Medical personnel treated him at the
track. He's expected to be fine.

Jessica Simpson is now selling beer



Jessica Simpson is now selling beer. The singer
and actress has signed on as spokeswoman for
Stampede Light Plus, made by Dallas' Stampede
Brewing Co. Simpson will appear in ads in stores
for the beer and is taking a 15% stake in the
brewer. The Dallas Morning News says terms
were not disclosed. Stampede Light Beer bills
itself as the beer for active people.

Talk show queen Ellen DeGeneres has wed her longtime
girlfriend Portia de Rossi in an intimate ceremony.
DeGeneres, 50, and actress de Rossi, 35, exchanged
rings at the private service in the backyard of their
Beverly Hills home on Saturday. Just 19 guests watched
as the couple read aloud their handwritten vows. Portia
wore a backless, light pink dress and Ellen sported an
all white ensemble of pants, button-up shirt and vest.
Wedding plans have apparently been in the works
for months.

L'Oreal denies lightening Beyonce's skin for an ad



The people at L'Oreal are denying that Beyonce's
photo was purposely retouched to make her look
"whiter." The new print ad for L'Oreal Paris' Feria
hair color was officially released this week. It
featured a "paler" than normal Beyonce. However,
the cosmetics company is denying any wrong doing.
As for Beyonce, her rep has yet to comment.

Keith and Nicole use a tanker truck to block paparazzi



The paparazzi swarmed Nicole and Keith as they arrived
back in Sydney this week. The couple used a large tanker
truck to shield themselves from the photographers, who
were after a shot of Sunday Rose. Keith and Nicole then
used several decoy cars to throw off any pursuers. Once
they made it home they were greeted by their families.
