Yesterday, Jason Aldean and his wife, Jessica, appeared on "CBS This Morning" to talk about their annual Concert for the Cure. The concert raised over $500,000 this year that he and his wife donated to the Susan G Komen Foundation.
That charity is special to the couple as they lost their good friend, Melissa Morstad, to breast cancer eight years ago. It was actually Melissa who introduced Jason to Jessica.
"She was 28 when she was diagnosed and had three kids," said Jessica, who organizes the charity concert. "She was actually married to my cousin, which is how Jason and I met. And here she is leaving three little girls, and so young, 29 years old when she died."
However, while there to talk about their event, they had to answer questions about how their marriage was doing after Jason's incident earlier this fall.
"I would say you go ask any couple that's been married 30, 40, 50 years," Jason started to say, "I guarantee you it hadn't ..."
Jessica jumped in to say, "I would love to hear their story."
"It hasn't always been roses," Jason finished.
It appears the couple is putting the incident behind them and moving on together.
"I think we're fine," Jason said. "Any time you go through anything like that, it's tough. We've been together for a long time, and been through a lot of things together. Those are things that most people get to deal with in private, we didn't have the luxury of doing that."
