The 2013 Sprint Cup season hasn't even officially started yet, but Denny Hamlin already has reason to celebrate.

Hamlin and his longtime girlfriend, Jordan Fish, welcomed their first child on Sunday. Daughter Taylor James Hamlin weighed 6-pounds, 5-ounces and was born at 10:20 p.m.

Hamlin tweeted Monday morning:

"Introducing Taylor James Hamlin!!! Born Jan 20 at 20:20! Weighting 6lb 5oz and 20 inches in length."

Hamlin cut short testing on the new Gen 6 car at Daytona earlier this month because he didn't want to be out of state for the impending birth. The North Carolina resident spent one day at Daytona International Speedway before jetting out.

"I didn't want to leave her home alone at any point during the night," Hamlin told the Sporting News following testing on Jan. 10. "These things can come at any time and she's due right about now."

Hamlin, 32, and Fish, 25, met in January 2007 at a Charlotte Bobcats game, where Fish performed as a member of the Lady Cats, the Bobcats dance team. Hamlin was sitting courtside at a game and the pair made eye contact while the Lady Cats were performing a routine on the sideline.

Though Hamlin and Fish spoke on the phone shortly afterward, they went their separate ways and didn't officially start dating until many months later, when Fish contacted Hamlin about sponsoring her for the Miss South Carolina USA pageant. Fish took Hamlin out to dinner as a thank-you gesture, and the pair have been dating ever since.
