Katherine Webb, the pageant-winning girlfriend of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron, stole the show during Monday night's BCS National Championship. Miss Alabama was heavily featured on ESPN's telecast and gained more than 100,000 followers on Twitter after play-by-play man Brent Musburger cooed about her good looks.
One NFL player was paying special attention.
Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Darnell Dockett began tweeting messages to Webb during the game, had a late-night back-and-forth with McCarron and then sent out two Photoshopped pictures, one of which depicted Webb's "desire" to hang out with Dockett and another which "confirmed" it. The whole affair was like a modern day Romeo and Juliet, only with zero similarities and much more talk about hot wings.
We have constructed the timeline of Dockett's quest for stolen love. You will want to read it.
He started off with a simple request, like a shy kid shuffling his feet while asking a girl to homecoming.
@_KatherineWebb aye u going to king of diamonds Monday after game?
There was no response. As Webb told USA TODAY Sports, her phone died during the game. This didn't deter Dockett. He sent another tweet, this time offering his phone number and a classy night out on the town.
Aye @_KatherineWebb hit me (240) 464-4150 when game over, lets go to wing stop then King of diamond,
Dockett's right; a Miss Alabama is far too beautiful to be slumming it at Buffalo Wild Wings. [Brent Musberger: "Yup."] Only Wing Stop and King of Diamonds, which Yelp! reviewers tout as "the most exclusive urban strip club in Miami" worked by "beautiful, thick, flexible, athletic women who enjoy dancing to music and provide you plenty of excitement," could possibly be good enough for Ms. Webb.
