Mr. Sykes is an amazing teacher. He is strict, he is funny, and he is very smart. He makes learning fun, but in a meantime keeps us all in line. He works very hard and makes sure that everybody in his class gets the attention they deserve. There are other things I would like you to know about my teacher. Before becoming a teacher Mr. Sykes served in United States Navy. He retired from Navy in 1995 after being injured in the Persian Gulf while serving on the aircraft carrier. He has taught 5th grade for 12 years. He is involved with many community service activities, like Special Olympics AZ, he is on a board of MCC Alumni Board of Directors, he is a Senior Educator for Civil Air Patrol, he is Instructor for American Red Cross, and that is just to name a few. Please consider him as a nominee as he really deserves it.
