Carminati Elementary School

Kelly Trujillo should be a teacher of the week because she is awesome. She cares for her students and tries to make learning fun. She is always looking for new innovative ideas to help her kids learn. She is very dedicated to her kids, arriving at school early each and every day and staying as late as needed to get things done. She puts so much of her own money into her kids. For example, they read a story called THE SALAD and she makes a salad in her classroom to show them exactly what the book is talking about. She takes her kids from below bench mark to 100% by the end of the year on their DIBLES tests. Her test scores are great! Her students love her as do their parents. She is a team player as well, working with the other kindergarten teachers at her school to keep all classes involved not just her own. Kelly is an example of school spirit too. She is always involved in what the school has going on, even bringing in special assemblies to give the students experiences that they may never get. I feel Kelly deserves this award and since her students are too young to be able to nominate her, I am doing it for them.
