Ms. Lydia is a first year fifth grade teacher at Imagine Tempe. She is a very caring teacher who goes above and beyond her duties as a teacher. She runs tutoring for her students four times a week, coaches the school volleyball team, heads the student council and is a member of the events committee. She has created a very comfortable atmosphere for all of her 33 students. She has gone as far as painting her classroom on her own to create a student-friendly environment, even with the minimal space that she has been given. Ms. Lydia encourages her students to never give-up and to always maintain a positive attitude. She has created a tree of positivity in her classroom where students can publicly display shout-outs to one another for encouragement and support. Ms. Lydia is a firm believer that each and every one of her students can and will succeed. She pushes her students to their full potential and will not settle for anything but their very best. I think Ms. Lydia is a perfect nominee for “Teacher of the Week”.
