Isaac Middle School

Mrs. Homyak constantly goes above and beyond for the kids at IMS. She is always working late into the evening, coming up with innovative ways to teach difficult concepts. She takes classess to improve her own knowledge and to learn new ways of teaching science. Most recently, Mrs. Homyak sponsored the Robotics club at IMS. This club is a way for kids to learn about real life challenges and to design solutions for them. It teaches them to use the scientific process, to do research, to build robots and do basic computer programming. Last week, the team competed in a regional competition in which they took first place for research. Today, the team went on a research field trip to a local resaurant as their robotics solution was designed to work in a resaurant. These are the types of real life experiences that Mrs. Homyak consistently provides students to motivate and inspire them. This weekend, the robotics team is going to the state tournament and even though she is facing challenges with funding and other things Mrs. Homyak is going to get the kids there. She is working on finding yet another creative solution to innovate, inspire and bring hope to the kids of Isaac Middle School.
