Agua Fria H.S.

Marian Haley is without a doubt the most respected teacher, by her peers and students, at Agua Fria. As a Government and Law teacher, Ms. Haley helped to instill a sense of civic duty in scores of students. Examples include organizing an annual student voter registration and hosting local congressmen to speak with students. Most significantly, Ms. Haley has, for the last several years, led a "Holiday Troop Drive". In a real world and hands-on activity, her government students learn the importance of civic duty by collecting, packaging, and shipping items to troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other areas of deployment. Items that we take for granted such as toothbrushes, hand sanitizer, magazines, and playing cards are sent to our brave soldiers to enjoy. Finally, there is not a single student who has met Ms. Haley that can't tell you her daily advice. As students walk by her room, Ms. Haley greets each one of them with a smile as she reminds them, to "Make good choices". Although this may seem trite, the students of Agua Fria High School DO make good choices, thanks, to Marian Haley.
