Buckeye Union High School

Mrs. Katy Wright has been an inspiration,mentor,friend and wonderful teacher for several years now. She is the AG Teacher for Buckeye Union High School. She taught my sister,who is now in college majoring in Dairy Science,and I am so lucky to have her as well. Mrs.Wright has done so many improvements to the schools AG Program. Last year,she got our very out dated Green House back up and useful. We are now experimenting with different plants and vegtables and how to grow them. We also have plants to sell now for fundraisers to help our plant and soil teams with their activities. Every year there has been a group of students who attend the National FFA Convention,competing Nationally because we won our State contest. This is all due to the hard work and mentoring of Mrs.Wright. We compete in AG Sales,Livestock and Dairy Judging,Plant and Soil, and that's just naming a few. This year, Mrs.Wright is expecting her first baby and wasn't feeling that great. But it didn't stop her from taking 27 students to Nationals for competition in Indianappolis,Indiana. And this year,she took and handled those students all by herself. This included a few roudy ones.She had kids all over the convention competing in various AG related competitions. She has students that she mentored and worked hard with who are now attending colleges across the United States to earn degrees in the Agriculture Business. Three of her students became FFA State Officers. Mrs.Wright truely deserves to be the KNIX Fulten Homes, " Teacher of the Week". We would love to suprise her and let her know just how much she means to this school and her students. She is remarkable and a person I look up to and admire. Sincerely, Leah D.Edwards
