Lt Col Deborah Lehker is our October My Military Hero. Lt Col Lehker is currently serving in Active Reserves and will be deployed again to defend our country. Lt Col Lehker is currently a RN Clinical Development Professional for Banner Health here in our community. Lt Col Lehker was nominated by co-worker Teri Davis. I would like to submit Lt Col Deborah (Deb) Lehker as the My Military Hero. She has served for the War on Terror with several deployments to Afghanistan, Fallujah, Germany and more. She is in charge of the Medical Transport plane that takes GI's that are injured from the war zone to a medical hospital. This air transport is a mini-ICU with everything you need to transport these solders in a safe environment. Deb does a phenomenal job and is well respected among the other medical team that works on the transport. She not only cares for our GI's but Deb is a Wound Ostomy nurse and cares for patients that need her expertise. Deb is not only a co-worker but a friend that helped me in a time of need. I had a specific need. I had called my home care provider that told me they would not be able to come to my home for 3 more days. I felt helpless before she came to help me. I called Deb as she had reached out to me before I went home from the hospital. Deb came to my home, on the 4th of July, on her day off. She left her family to make sure that I had the supplies I needed and was able to take care of myself before she left. She truly saved my life when I had no other resources on the 4th of July.
